Jacuzzi Family Vineyards & The Olive Oil Press

California’s wine country is beautiful. It is filled with incredibly friendly people and is home to some of the best wines in the world. During my recent trip I had the pleasure of visiting a few wineries in Sonoma and the wine was absolutely divine. In this post I want to fill you in on my experience at Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.

With over 600 wineries and tasting rooms across Napa and Sonoma, planning this trip was a bit overwhelming to say the least. I have been so busy with work, the blog, and of course my social life over the past few weeks, that I was not able to curate this trip the way I have with trips in the past.

Usually at least 3 weeks before I leave for travel I have a full itinerary and a list of ad-hoc places to visit well before I arrive to my destination. I book my tours in advance, sprinkle in some relaxation days, and research all of the “must-visit” restaurants just to make sure that I have an abundance of places to choose from.

That did not happen with this trip. With as busy as my life has been and adding Covid restrictions into the mix, there were too many factors at play here. So I decided to throw caution to the wind and said forget it, on this trip, we'll just have to “wing it.”

Enter our first tasting...

After waking up from our first night's sleep at the Inn at Sonoma, a Four Sister's Inn, mom and I set out for our first (unscheduled) tasting.

I'd already done some research on the Jaccuzi Winery before we got to Sonoma County and I have to be honest, the name was a bit of a turn off. I thought it was some type of tourist trap... a place with multiple Jacuzzis that doubled as a winery to make extra money. Little did I know, that was not the case at all.

Jacuzzi is actually the family's name from which this winery originated and the wine was definitely on point! It was the second winery we saw on our drive in from San Francisco and wasn't far from our hotel, so we went straight there for our first tasting at 10 AM.

Jacuzzi Family Vineyards – Sonoma, California

This winery is so beautiful and has a rustic “Tuscany feel” to it. They produce Italian inspired wines which also pays homage to their family’s rich Italian history.

Included in tasting – Five pours, French baguette, Italian herb infused olive oil from The Olive Oil Press.

My favorite wine – Of the five wines I tasted, my absolute favorite was the Rose' which surprised even me! Rose’s are so not me at all and I have never been a real fan of Roses but I have say, these delightful blush colored wines won throughout the entire trip for me! The Rosato Di Primitivo here at Jacuzzi was light, brisk and on the dry side which is absolutely my speed. It boasts “notes of strawberry, vanilla and hints of watermelon” and was absolutely delightful!

Bottles I purchased – Rosato Di Primitivo (Rose) & Sangiovese (red)

The Olive Oil Press

What makes Jacuzzi Family Vineyards even more attractive is that it also houses the award-winning olive oils and balsamic vinegars from The Olive Oil Press!

These olive oils come in a variety of flavors like mango, mandarin, blood orange and jalapeno (I know, it’s so impressive). They also sell herb-infused olive oils with flavors like thyme, garlic, and chive. Some can be used for cooking while others are used for dipping, the possibilities are endless! Be sure to check their website to see all they have to offer.

As I mentioned above, you get a sampling of the olive oils during your tasting so that makes this spot a "double tasting" experience! This place is "Rue Approved" and I encourage you to visit.

Be sure to check back next Tuesday to find out where mom and I went next!
